1 airlifted to hospital, 2 more seriously hurt in Roosevelt Highway crash, troopers say

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Three drivers were hospitalized after a crash on Roosevelt Highway Monday afternoon, according to the Georgia State Patrol. At around 2:43 p.m., troopers stationed in Forest Park responded to the highway. One of the drivers was airlifted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the other two were taken via ambulance with serious injuries. Troopers believe a northbound GMC Yukon driven by a 41-year-old man crossed into the southbound lanes, hitting a Ford Transit van head-on. The van, driven by a 49-year-old man, went into the northbound lanes, where it was then hit by a Cadillac Escalade driven by a 53-year-old man. The van’s driver was the one to be airlifted, according to troopers. Roosevelt Highway was closed in both directions for about four hours as emergency crews responded. No charges have been announced.
